Directions to Phoenix Regional
Airport
From Phoenix:
Take I-10 east towards Tucson, exit Queen Creek Road
and zero your odometer. Turn right towards the town of Maricopa. In 14
miles you will come to the first traffic light of Maricopa. At 16 miles and the
6th traffic light, you will have a Shell station on your right, a NAPA Auto
Parts on the left and railroad tracks in front of you. Turn left at this light.
If you cross the railroad tracks, you went too far. Continue on this road
(Maricopa-Casa Grande Hwy), for 9.8 miles. There you will see a green sign
with a white airplane on it and a yellow street sign denoting Russell
Rd. Turn left. In 1 mile, you will turn left on Bud Rd. Proceed slowly as there
are often residents, dogs and/or taxiing aircraft present. If the latter is
present, please clear the taxiway so it can pass. You are now heading
directly towards the runway. DO NOT ENTER OR CROSS THE RUNWAY!!! As you near the
large fueling tanks, turn left onto the dirt and proceed to our white
trailer you will see parked next to the taxiway.
BTW: We lack facilities at the flying site. It is wise to do a
"potty break", while you are still in the town of Maricopa.
From Tucson:
Take I-10 west towards Phoenix. Get off at exit 185, turn
left towards Casa Grande. In a mile or 2, you will come to the first
traffic light at Val Vista Rd., turn right. In approximately 8 miles, Val Vista
ends at the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, turn right. In about a mile and a half
you will see a small, white bridge crossing the ditch on the right and a street
sign denoting Russell Rd. Turn right again. In 1 mile, you will turn left
on Bud Rd. Proceed slowly as there are often residents, dogs and/or taxiing
aircraft present. If the latter are present, please clear the taxiway so they
can pass. You are now heading directly towards the runway. DO NOT ENTER OR CROSS
THE RUNWAY!!! As you near the large fueling tanks, turn left onto the dirt and
proceed to our white trailer you will see parked next to the runway.
